Weber
(provided by Franz Weber/Germany)

Some years ago, this German farmer successfully crossbred Swedish and Hungarian red deer. (elaphus elaphus X elaphus hippelaphus)
The photo below shows one of the breeding results of that time

weber
[ Weber Alpha. ]

This stag once produced 16 kilogram hard antler and 46 points. Two of his sons, Thor and Odin, were imported at Stedemanshof in 1996.
Breeding results of both stags were hazardous, but a number of Odin's daughters still belong to the Stedemanshof herd. Odin was last used as a sire in September/October 2000, in combination with full-blood Furzeland Park (Devon UK) hinds. The best 2002 yearling stag descends from this combination.

red - strong 15-point yearling, son of Odin
white - Jaegersborg (DK) white red deer yearling ]

Because of this success the contacts with Franz Weber were renewed in the summer of 2002. Below: current master stag on Franz Weber's farm: an extremely strong seven-year-old stag, a son of Weber Alpha's.

[ WEBER BETA - 44 points ( presumable weight of the cast antlers: 15-16 kg ]

Some of Weber Beta's daughters have been purchased and will be imported to Stedemanshof in December 2002.
