Peel Forest Furzeland Herd (NZ)
(provided by Graham Carr International Deer Group)
Last but not least...
Which stag stirs the imagination more than Jamieson?
World record 26-points spiker (Photograph: Encyclopedia of Deer by G. Kenneth Whitehead).
7 years of age, he held the "potential" world record in Safari Club International (573 SCI points).

[ Jamieson, from the Gramham Carr - Peel Forest Estate Furzeland Herd, New Zealand. ]
In 1998, Stedemanshof bought 20 Jamieson semen-straws and as many suitable hinds were artificially inseminated.
9 inseminations were successful and 7 hindcalves and 2 stagcalves were born.
Some of these hinds bore Ambiorix's calves this year (2001). All 7 hinds will go with Howland next mating season.
One of the 2 stagcalves proved himself a worthy son of his father's as of age 1. If you see his first cast antlers,
you will immediately understand why !

[ Junior's first cast antlers. ]
This is why he is called "Jamieson Junior" at Stedemanshof.
Take a look at the following pictures and judge for yourself if he is worthy of that name.

During the rut 2001 Junior (age 2) was used in the breeding program for the first time. He did very well and all 15 hinds given to him (daughters of Midmar 122 and Sir John's) were inseminated. They gave birth to their calves without any problem.
In 2002 Junior's 'harem' will consist of about 25 selected hinds. About ten of these will be available for export by the end of December (after scanning).
In this respect sincerely interested people are advised to contact us as soon as possible (first come, first served!).
As far as we know the Stedemanshof herd is the only one in Continental Europe to offer the world-famous Furzeland genetics.
Junior's pedigree, as mentioned above, has been checked and approved through DNA-testing.
